Day 5
The following blessing is recited when the Menorah is lit:
Baruch ata Adonai, Elohaynu melech haolam, asher kidshanu b’mitsvotav, v’tsivanu, l’hadlik ner shel Chanukah. (translation: We praise You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us by Your Mitzvot and enjoined us to kindle the Chanukah lights.)
Baruch ata Adonai, Elohaynu melech haoalm, she-asa nisim la-a-vo-tenu, ba-ya-mim ha-hem bazman haze. (translation: We praise You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who performed wondrous deeds for our ancestors in days of old at this season.)

LOVE
Day 5 is said to be the warmest light as it is the richest reward of life. To love and to be loved is the greatest gift and we see this perfectly exemplified in the life-giving atoning work of God’s Son, our Meshiach (Messiah) and Savior.
In Vayikra (Leviticus) 17:11we are told: “For the life of the flesh is in the blood and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes an atonement for the soul.” In the New Covenant we read of Y’shua (Jesus) freely laying His life down (and in the power of Elohim (God) taking it up again three days later, conquering sin and its’ penalty, death, for all mankind). In Yohanan’s (John’s) Book we read (chapter 15, verse 13): “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.” Later, he wrote in his book entitled, I Yohanan (John) 4:9-10: “By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (atonement) for our sins.”
No greater gift…no greater love…bask in the warmth of God’s love by accepting His Son’s atoning work for you!
